Hydroponic Cultivation System – The hydroponic farming system is one of the farming systems that requires a large area to be carried out, this system is more tied to nutrients, not soil.
Hydroponics can be interpreted as a plant cultivation technique using planting media other than soil and utilizing water to distribute the nutrients needed to each plant.
Hydroponics also has several advantages, including climate independence, sustainable crop yields, and more practical plant care that can be done on narrow land.
The wick system or axis system, is called the wick system because this system uses the help of an axis to distribute nutrients to plants. The wick system is the simplest system and is perfect for beginners.
The hydroponic wick system is easy to make, with a container to hold water, a netpot that is given a wick in the form of flannel and styrofoam to support the netpot. For better growth, an air stone can also be added to increase oxygen.
2. NFT (Nutrient FilmTechnique)
The NFT system utilizes shallow water flows and does not submerge the plant roots. NFT installations are usually made slightly tilted so that water does not stagnate. The way this system works, the nutrients are pumped into the planting tub so that the nutrients soak the roots.
Then the nutrients return to the reservoir. Because the nutrients do not soak the roots, the NFT system, the roots of the plants are more likely to get more oxygen.
3. DFT (Deep Flow Technique)
Hydroponics with the DFT system is a system that uses a pool of nutrients. Plant roots in this system are submerged in nutrients 3-5 cm deep. The DFT system is similar to the NFT system but the installation is not tilted to create slow circulation resulting in inundation. The advantage of this system is that if the power fails, there is still a nutrient reserve so that the plants are still fresh.
4. Ebb and Flow
The ebb and flow system or what is known as the tidal system, works by means of the nutrients that flood the tub and then at a certain time the nutrients recede and return to the reservoir. In this system, the pump is regulated by a timer.
When the pump starts, it will cause a tide so that the plants are submerged by nutrients, when the pump turns off, the nutrients will recede. The ebb and flow of nutrients allows the plant roots to get more oxygen.

5. Deep Water Culture
The deep water culture system, also known as the floating raft system, is a simple system. The way this system works is passive, the nutrient water in the planting tub stagnates and soaks the plant roots.
This system is similar to the axis system which distinguishes this system does not use an axis. Because the nutrients are not circulating, the floating raft system must be added with stione water to increase oxygen.
The drip system or drip system is the most common hydroponic system used by farmers. There are two types of this system, namely recovery and non-recovery. The drip recovery system works by dropping nutrients into the plant roots, then the remaining nutrients that dripped will return to the reservoir, while non-recovery nutrients do not return to the reservoir.
